Microsite for a Macro Cause
Wide Lens Creative is all about helping the organizations and businesses that matter, so when the Blue Cure Foundation approached us about creating a microsite for their Night Run Event, we couldn’t have been more excited.
Project Outline //
The Blue Cure Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that seeks to educate and develop lifestyles of prevention against preventable cancers. They do this through a variety of means, which you can learn about on www.bluecure.org. One of their most popular events is the annual 5K Night Run, started last year right here in Houston, TX.
Blue Cure’s primary site has a lot of information on it, and it was important to drive visitors converted from advertisements and marketing campaigns to a property solely dedicated to the Night Run to avoid distraction and optimize conversions. They also needed a mobile-optimized responsive website that would allow for easy access and signups to visitors on the go.
The Solution //
With this in mind, Wide Lens built out an entirely separate WordPress theme from scratch to accommodate the specific needs of site. By building out a clear and powerful backend, all text and images are completely customizable by the Blue Cure team without any knowledge of coding or HTML. With this turnkey website solution in place, Blue Cure can now plan to expand the race to several cities across the United States, growing their reach and educating more young adults about preventable cancers and how to develop healthy lifestyles.
